Qingyi and her son Dawa are waiting for her husband Shizi to come home from work on New Year's Eve. When he doesn't appear, she leaves Dawa with a neighbour while she goes find Shizi. She returns home without her husband, only to find Dawa alone. Something has scared the neighbour so badly that she fled their house. Qingyi then realises there is someone else in the house with them. Years past, the son, now going by Xingzhong, returns to the house after Qingyi's death. He decides to sell the house but while looking for the property certificate, strange things keep happening to him and his girlfriend, Lily.
