The white-knuckle noise abstractions of Spanish sound artist Francisco Lopez rarely, if ever, resemble anything close to traditional (or even experimental) music forms. Concerned with the materiality of sound itself, Lopez's long-form, often hour-plus-length compositions explore the extremes of aural perception, from sub-audible field recordings to blistering slabs of white noise.
