In the module, "Introduction to the Business of Therapy" we establish your intentions for the course and for your practice, look at the six essential pillars of private practice, lean the "Must Do" tasks to get you started, and meet the common mistakes by first practice owners.In "Business ownership" we learn what it means to own a business, the roles and attributes of business owners, we explore the meaning and importance of personal authority and what prevents us from stepping into the role.In "A Vision for your practice" we start the process of creating an identity for your practice, we explore some of the fundamental decisions that must be made as you start to create your unique practice, and we learn the importance of and start to create a business plan.In "Promoting your services," we learn the basics of marketing, identify your preferred clients, learn about the choices of channels through which to promote your practice and we start to create a marketing plan.In "Managing your practice" we learn the essential financial records and supportive organisational systems you need in your practice, we are introduced to the most useful financial reports for supporting your business, and for Irish learners there's an introduction to income tax and VAT.In "Money, through a lens of valuing yourself & your practice" we learn how to set fee levels, contract with clients, we learn about the importance of real self-care and support, and we explore blocks to worthiness and deserving.
